Oregon is very nice. Been there a couple times. You should visit eureka California and the humbolt area. See the giant redwoods.
I have a couple travel rods. Love them. Not the greatest rods, but I think the convenience of portability and packability is what I like. I've fought fish on mine and they hold up pretty well. Heck I have one I do surf fish with too.
Oh and love the drone footage. One of these days I'll be able to get one. One of these days...

this has absolutely nothing to do with your trip... but I have a question & I really feel like you’d know, or at least have the best guess...

where I live, I have some nice little ponds where all of the ice is off. since the ice has come off, i’ve caught exactly 4 largeheads. I was using a rooster tail & a spinner bait. these fish are NOT heavily pressured at all. like me and one other guy fish the ponds and he’s never there.

but anyways, what would you suggest throwing to try and catch more fish? I can’t map the pond, obviously and i’ve hit the little structures there and nothing. I don’t know what i’m doing wrong. is there any chance you could PLEASE give me some advice on this? there’s a lot of small ones in there, but there are some fucking SLAUNCHES in there. I caught my PB in that pond, a nice 6.5lb large head. in the summer I can catch them all the time... but with the ice just coming off... I just don’t know what to do.

if you actually answer this, i’ll be super grateful. anyways, keep making rad videos man.

Not sure if they are in season yet, you should try for some of our Stripped Bass, the only place I ever caught one was on the Smith River just north of Reedsport, fished from a boat using a large weighted eel lure. You can sometimes hook into a big sturgeon there as well. Fished a lot on the Umpqua and Mill creek for Salmon, Steelhead and Jack Salmon. My favorite Fishing spot is currently closed due to a huge rock and mud slide, as well as work on the spillway for the dam. That is Cougar Reservoir on the McKenzie River out of Eugene. Would love to see you tie into a big stripper or a spring run salmon. Caught my biggest fish, while deep sea fishing out of Winchester Bay on a chunk of herring. I have not gone out fishing for sum time, Had a stroke, now I need a walker to get around much, unfortunately they do not build them in an all terrain style. Bro, I grew up in Bend. My mom used to work at the Deschutes Brewery. I ate lunch with one of her regulars a lot, he was albino and I always thought he was so cool cause he wore sunglasses and a trench coat inside. lol Awesome video btw!!

I spent 6 months in Astoria oregon if you go you gotta check out big creek and gnat creek. Awesome trout fishing and salmon when the season is in. Also at fort Stevens there are plenty of fishing opportunities
