cool vid man! I need some advice, I got an rtc and I moved it in a bigger outdoor pond a couple of weeks ago... its still a baby about 4inches long. it used to eat like a pig when I had it in a small tank indoors, it wud even eat out of my hand. im feeding it tilapia fillet but for some reason it seems to have lost its appetite... the tank its currently in is about 500 gallons but its got only about 50 gallons of water in it at the moment. could it be stressed coz there are no other fish in it with it?

I’m glad you addressed the issue, thank you for listening to your commenters. I know some are nicer about it than others. I try to phrase things more like “it’s a good idea to do this...” rather than “you need to do this...” so I hope that helps. I don’t want to make you feel bad or oppressed. This is a good, enjoyable hobby as long as you do your research beforehand and don’t spread wrong information.

That and if stuff gets too big for your tank instead of releasing it sometimes some of your local fish store will take the fish to resell

Thank you for saying that. Here in Texas piranhas are banned just cause some retard released one into a lake and was caught on rod and reel by a little girl . Now if you found possesing one you could face possible jail time.

The main problem with releasing fish back to the wild native or exotic is you might introduce a disease into the place you release them!!

Hey Luke,
We have very strong Bio security laws in New Zealand.
No import of goldfish or Koi.
In fact it is illegal to own or even transport Koi here. I understand why, but I would love Koi in in pond. Not happening. Huge fines.

I know how bad the Koi, which have reverted back to Carp, are in the Waikato river are. Huge problem.
That's really scary about releasing a virus into the wild.
There will always be collateral and side effects.
New Zealanders would certainly protest the virus coming here.

If he has no respect for fish and the hobby, why spend hundreds or even thousands on ponds for fish, and if he's not a good fish keeper then how are his fish so healthy nice looking. Mollies and platies are very similar and he may have made a little mistake. When did he catch a live fish and dump in a shops tank, send me a link to the video, really want to see what you are talking about. Luke does make more informative videos, but Paul just does things differently, do you have a problem with people sanding out of the crowd or something? I get where your coming from with the worlds smallest fish tank video, cause it just wasn't a good one, but at least he learned from his mistake and when he did his "Worlds Coolest Fish Tank" he clearly stated that he listened to the comments and wasn't going to put fish in them and just wanted to show some cool ideas he had.

Please do your research before forming and opinion and going so strongly with it.

He states in one of his videos that the pond does not lead too any other bodies of water, therefor the exotic fish wont be spreading. although this is not a good practice.

He does respect the fish and when he dies release fish they are usually ones that he caught in that specific pond/ lake and he makes sure that they are isolated ponds / lakes that are cut off from other waterways or bodies of water so they will stay isolated and not migrate to other bodies of water. And just because you don't agree with someone it doesn't make them a bad guy or have the need to name calling and/ or degrade or belittle that person. It just makes people look petty when they make demeaning and rude comments. You can be civil and still get your point across and people will listen to you more so and actually have respect for you if you just state your stance and reasons in a mature way.
