maybe right now there aren't many to benefit from it, but 4k becomes more popular everyday. there are 4k TV's going for about $350 now. the people who don't benefit from 4K could just lower the resolution to one that their internet service can support. that is why youtube offers you options for lower resolution. so filming in 4k would actually be the smart thing to do, because it will attract people who prefer it like me and other people who don't prefer it can just go to a lower res and watch the vid that way. if you can appeal to both audiences then why not do that? talk about not knowing anything about media.

l called you a narcissist because you were only thinking about yourself when you said "as long as the picture looks decent" that is what you are ok with, but many people would prefer better. this is funny... you said "you are being so ignorant calling me a narcissist when you don't know me" but then you said "you have 0 understanding of the media industry so please don't try to make points when you know nothing about it" you just got mad because l called you a narcissist and you were saying how l am being ignorant and l don't know you, but then you told me that l have no understanding of the media industry. first of all YOU don't know ME, so how do you know? second l have a degree in video game development. l would consider that as "media" would you not?
EDIT: some people are not ok with "decent" picture. just because it doesn't matter to you doesn't mean that for everybody. stop being a narcissist.
editing in 4k doesn't take that long as long as you have a decent GPU in your computer you could edit at about the same speed as you could in 1080p. these guys would have to have a good GPU in their computer for editing anyways.
