A ship is a vessel that has at least one continuous water-tight deck extending from bow to stern and can operate independently on large bodies of water. A boat is a vessel that is the opposite. (not counting subs)

Can't understand why nobody is on deck sunning themselves. I'd love to see how she would handle a 45 degree angle to the sea instead of head on.

Head on is best. 45 degree and you have roll + heaving = corkscrew motion = horrible and in very bad weather dangerous. Moral - always face the seas head on if really rough.
