To put this into perspective, an equally beautiful similarly outfitted custom 75' Bravada that sleeps 31 people runs around $1,190,000.00 and hits Lake Powell this coming spring 2018 (it has the hot tub, fire pit and a 4 story slide. This boat has 6600 sq. ft. of living space!! Each level is as large as my entire house 1650 sq. ft. Bravada One carries 2 jet skis, a 15" fishing boat -- on the top deck they only show the rear sunning area --- the FRONT half? are you sitting down - carries a helicopter - in case you need to run to the store. Underwater LED lighting, main salon entertainment center has a 70" LED TV and Bose Cinemate surround sound with 32" TVs in each bedroom 42" in the master and a pull down on the entertainment deck. Both kitchens are FULL kitchens - all stainless steel appliances - dishwasher, fridge, icemaker, sinks, compactor, microwave, teak wood cabinetry and granite countertops - one has a full-sized range with grill feature - the other a commercial grill with a double burner range. It also has a full-sized washer and dryer room. It carries 1000 gallons of fuel with an integrated 750 gallon toy tank for fueling those boy toys. Unlimited fresh water with a UVB Fresh Water Filtration System and a 1500 gallon holding tank. 5.0 Ton Central Air Conditioning. The standard 2018 model has an 8 person hot tub and a firepit. In 2015 Bravada built and delivered the "Redemption" to Lake Powell - 14 - yes, one four, bedrooms and 6 baths - Shares on Bravada houseboats can run from $26K to $250K and more depending on size, age, location and how many times they slice the share pie - this is not a timeshare it is an equity share in the boat, each boat is owned by the member LLC which holds the title to the boat free and clear - share owners meet annually to discuss finances, who gets what when etc. They are NOT AN investment, it will depreciate like your car. Timeshares are illegal on some lakes including Lake Powell. Don't forget incidentals like maintenance fees $3500 and up annually which includes slip fees, dock power, insurance and all necessary maintenance and “turn-around” fees ($1150 PER TRIP on Lake Powell). This particular Bravada was designed and built by Bravada's owner - says it all.

First of all, acre-feet is a 3 dimensional measurement and therefore can't just be converted to a 2 dimensional measurement.
Secondly, 32 million cubic meters is only 32 square km, witch isn't that much. If it was a square the sides would only be like 5,7 km long.

Note, I can understand why he chose that lake but I think it's a little restricting thats all.

Get your facts straight, not only is it so amazingly beautiful that pics don't do it any justice, but Lake Powell is only 13% of the National Recreation Area, but one of the largest man-made lakes in North America. At full pool (3700' elevation) it is 186 miles (299 km) long, has 1960 miles (3161 km) of shoreline, over 96 major side canyons, and a capacity of 27 million acre-feet (32 million cubic meters).

Unfortunately the Calorado only reaches the ocean during large storms or spring runoff. it gets used up before reaching the ocean. Also its too rocky and shallow. On top of that these boats are not made for the ocean. The shalow draft and with it being so tall, it would roll on it side and sink in a storm with large waves. I would love to run the great loop in one, but it would have to be redesigned to do it.

I thought the same thing until I was invited for a week on a houseboat. I was amazed at the bueaty and calming affect (effect?) that you get. pics don't do it justice! Also its so far away from any large cities, so at night you can see alot more stars.

+Manuel Kalam I grew up there ....it's beautiful. People from all over the world come there all summer, celebrities spend tons of money. A lot of movies are made there etc. Tourism is what keeps that place alive. Just google some pictures of Lake Powell, Horseshoe Canyon, Glenn Canyon. Just to name a few places to see.

We go to Lake Powell every year. If you know anything about the area, it is really hot. Unless the 2nd floor was air conditioned, the glass would just cause everyone to bake. And a 3-floor A.C run houseboat would be a literal drain on the boat. Just like a screened in porch...it doesn't keep out the heat completely, but it makes it a lot cooler. It probably does a good enough job...but the main reason for the screen is that it can be taken off--plus, it's tinted!
