Do large water changes raise ammonia and remove good bacteria? Your Betta fry have an amazing color!

No, water changes don’t raise ammonia, there shouldn’t be ammonia in the tank at all if it’s fully cycled. It doesn’t remove good bacteria as that prodominately lives in the filter. You have to do large water changes otherwise the bettas will become stunted in growth due to the growth inhibitor hormones they produce.

Gorgeous tanks and fish - any idea what causes the bottom dragging? Will they never grow those fins, or will they remain gone
forever?

Thank you. If they don’t develop they won’t ever grow, sadly. It doesn’t matter to the fish though.

Do you ever feed the grown up bettas blood worms? And have you ever had any allergy problems with the blood worms?

I've been using them for over 15 years with no issues up to this point. I appreciate the information, and hope noting develops for me. I'm sorry you're having issues with them.

Okay, because I used to feed (used to like last week) was feeding my fish blood worms, and started getting allergy problems when I fed the fish, even yesterday when I was water changing I got breathing problems, even though I had someone els feeding my fish blood worms. So, if you Feed you’re fish a lot of blood worms, I would advise to be careful on how often you feed them, I had been feeding blood worms a long time without problems till now. Thanks!

I haven't to the babies yet, but we feed bloodworms to all our other fish on an almost daily basis and never had any issues.

Lifewithpets, the babys drag their bottom probably because of overfeeding brimeshrimps. Happens when you feed too much at once. What helps is a little bit higher temperature and time :)

Thanks, nothing improves them, even when I don't feed. Their temperature is at 83f, I'm really hoping they improve.

I don’t know, I don’t use them. We feed daphnia, brine shrimp, bloodworms, gel food and some pellet foods.
