Rashmi Kapur I think spitting food right back out is a sign of them not liking it. You should maybe find a different type of food for them. I think your LFS would be a great place to start.

I believe this was a 10L tank. He was later moved to a 20L where he lived happily for 4 years.

Please i need some advice. I will be gone for a week and i asked my friend to feed my Betta Bub Ludwig. He cant feed him everyday cause he is busy so i asked him to feed him every second day. I have 1mm Pellets, how many would you say should he give per feeding when he feeds Bub Ludwig every second day?

Well, I’m no expert, but in almost every video I’ve watched, they say it’s ok to just feed the regular amount every other day. He will be fine without food for a day or so. So I guess, ask your friend to feed him what you feed him.

I got a Betta named Bub Ludwig and i feed him 2 dry bloodworms in the morning and 3 Betta 1 mm pellets at night. Once a week on Monday i fast him. Do you think this is ok as a permanent diet?

I’m no expert, but I think it’s a bit too much. I was feeding mine a few pellets once a day, and 2/3 times a week those blood worms.

lancexpz of course, thats a sponge filter which is being powered by an air pump. I later upgraded that to a filter which have a smaller bubble output. The fish was fine, it didn't mind the small water movement it caused.

you can always buy pellets or flakes for them. bloodworms and brine shrimp can (and most of the time) be used as treats and you can find them at your local PetSmart or Petco if you live in America :)

Katie- Lynn I have the same tank and it is 3.3 gallons. By the way, you can't tell if the water is clean, you will need to do some ammonia and nitrite testing. I am assuming that the may be clean because it has a filter, a sponge filter! But you never know the water could be dirty. Just because it's clear, doesn't mean it's clean. The water could be clear but it could have like tons of ammonia which is harmful to the fish and dirty. You can have muddy water and it could be clean! It looks dirty but maybe it's not! Could have low ammonia and nitrite.

I just bought my second betta today and realised that the food I bought for my previous one Long ago was spoilt and couldn't use it. I was scared my betta may be hungry and I happened to find an ant crawling on my desk so I squished it and throw it into the fish tank. Who knew, my betta ate it in one gulp straight away. I kinda have an ant infestation in my house, with no pesticide whatsoever, do you think it can be a little snack every now and then ? Maybe it's just me being really sadistic towards ants, but they are really quite the annoyance.

+Germaine Lim Ants are a great food for Betta fish as long as they are free of pesticides. But again ants carry parasites, since who knows what they walk over. This can affect your betta. So I recommend that you do it only a few times. Do not make it a routine. I usually feed my guy pellets and bloodworms for treats. But one more thing, if you're planning to buy a betta always buy the requirements first ;)

what kind of filter is that? My tank came with one and its way too strong. My beta fish kept getting stuck to it. I finally had to take it out. I can see stuff on top of the water now, kinda looks like oil or something. He is also swimming constantly on one edge of the tank as if he sees his reflection. Not sure if he does or not but I hope he stops when he gets tired. Hopefully he doesn't die.

It looks like a sponge filter look them up on ebay great filtration cheap 4 double sponge for under 10 dollars are quiet and it's gentle enough for almost done betta babyd

+Travis Milan I was just asking him what filter system he is using because mine kept sucking my Beta to it. I finally took it out. But now I see stuff floating at the top of the water like oil or something. The water is only 4 days old and its a 10 gallon tank. Really wanting a filter to help keep the water clean longer.

Try Frozen worms. Keep them in your fridge. Mine likes those too! Frozen brine shrimp are good too or beef heart. I like your tank maybe get a live plant in there. I really like your crown tail. He is very beautiful. :)
