Draining into a drainage ditch doesn't sound like a good idea and is possibly illegal.
Unless there is a translation problem between UK and American English language.
You really shouldn't be chucking your waste water into the wild. As an example, the awful disease that wiped out your fish earlier this year would get into the ecosystem and have the potential to cause some serious problems. Not to mention fry, alien plant life and all sorts of other nasties.
It'd be better to plumb it into your mains waste.

I know this sounds a bit nerdy but you should try to set up a water treatment system so you can treat the waste water and be able to reuse the water instead of throwing it down the drain.

Jenny important information about your drain pipe... yes other people have said you need your drain pipe to pitch and this is true. However your "T's" are not really T they are curved, (sanitary wye) and at 13.26 time in your video you will see two of them facing opposite directions. So if you are draining more then one at a time you could have a spot in the drain that will be turbulent and slow the drain at that point. Make sure they all curve so the water flows with the water moving to the outside of your beautiful fish room. I have made this mistake myself in the past.

You did forget the room the drain pipe will take from your layout, you will not have the room for the current size tub you have there, the 90 will take the pipe from both walls and your tape layout dose not account for lt.

Plumping looking good.
Idk if yoj know about using a marker but it great once you rough plumb it mark a line at the connection so when you glue it you won't mess up on getting in the same spot.

Later down the road if you have more space in the fish room, that would be really cool to make a 2,000 gal tank like joeys where you could have cool plants and some driftwood. Everything looks great!

Make sure you drain pipe on the exterior has a back flow preventer on it. While you will not have flooding to back flow up it, it will keep lizards, frogs, and snakes from entering your fish room via the drain pipe.

Also your last T in the line is on backwards. You will want to reverse that as the curve is going to try and push water up the drain line rather than towards the low end.

I may have missed it but how is she going to reach the ball valves to water change her aquariums? I am assuming there is going to be a ball valve on the back of each aquarium leading down the the flex pipe, and if the valves are where I think they are going to be they are going to be extremely difficult to access.

You might regret those valves, they tend to be difficult to turn specifically after time. BRS sells valves that stay easy to turn forever.

i have a similar drain system in my fishroom, make sure you take gravity into effect and you may want to have some sort of clean out section in case you suck up any sort of substrate, plant matter, or snails.

For example you could automate this so you can push a single button and drain your tanks. Then push another button to fill your tanks. Maybe have a selector switch to select which tank you wanted to do. I can help you make something like that using arduino, raspberry pi, or a PLC.

Not sure if you wanted your drain pipe (off the tank) to stick out that far... If you use a "street 90" instead of a "90° elbow" it'll be closer to the tank.

Make sure you don't use that tubing to drain aquariums needs to be "spa flex" or braided tubing like your drain lines because that clear tubing can and will kink from use. Look into flush mounted screen strainer for your drain lines as well keeps fish from going down the drain. Talk to plumber about drain line slope if not enough slope you will have issues with stagnant water sitting in lines dirty water smelly fishroom

I was setting up for my beta and the lady tried to tell me that they didn't have filters for beta fish because they don't need them I was so mad I was just said oh ok thanks and then I found the filter I needed and left

how about instead of having the water change pipe go through the wall into a drainage ditch. have it go into an outside tank to use to water your garden? the water is super healthy and beneficial for plants. You could start veggie garden to grow your food for your rabbit using the beneficial water.

Jennie, I'm not trying to be a know it all, but in case you didn't know your drain need to be pitched with a drop of 1/4" per foot of run. In other words, say the entire run is 30 feet long, the beginning of the pipe needs to be 7.5 inches higher than the point where it exits the building. Also, another person pointed out that one of your fittings ( the last one near the corner is backward. The bend in the wye should be in the direction of flow.

The last vertical join on your drain pipe is pointing in the opposite direction to the way the water will flow! I hope you catch it (or check the comments) before you glue them all together so it doesn't back fill your other pipes!

At 8:00 you show the fourth drainage pipe. In order to prevent any problems, flip the T pipe around because as water will flow through it will fight against the water coming down from the other tanks.

The flow of your drainage piping isn't all going in the same direction, and I hope you caught it or see this comment because it might cause some big issue later? You might want to have the drain be the top hole of the aquarium. In automated system, you just add water to the tank and the overflow would drain.

Your current setup, it would would need a solenoid to turn on and off the drain.

I've never done anything that big but should the PVC pipes be at a downward slope so you don't have nasty fish water setting in your drain pipes.

james mckinnon That is what she said she is going to do. She hasn't mounted it yet and said she would do so at a slope so none of the nastiness stays in the pipe.

Looks like one of the connections on your drainage pvc pipe is backwards. It’s the last connection before the back wall.

I remember back in the day when you where going to make the Fish room in the basement in Minnesota but it never happened. This is probably the “payback” I guess (I not sure how to explain it) of us waiting for the old fish room for the pass 3/4 years!
