I have a male betta, with what I assume is pop eye (it's actually swollen right at the back of the eye)...it's been like this for a couple of months now...I change water 3-4 per week easily since this happened, use aquarium salt, and keep the temps in the mid to upper 70's (at night it dips to low 70s)...fins looks great, he bubble nests, eats great...pop eye refuses to go away.

Off topic from the video, but what bottom dweller fish would you recommend as part of a clean up crew for a 29 gal? Something that is effective but won’t eat my snails? I use a fine sand substrate

I found your channel recently and love it :) thanks for the videos. I know you have some shrimp tanks, have you ever used sand in any of them? I've noticed it's difficult to keep the sand clean in mine and don't really want to suck up any shrimp eggs while trying to clean it :c

welcome! I have and do use sand The eggs shouldnt be a problem, as the female carries them until they hatch. Baby shrimplets can be tricky, but using a small gauge siphon makes the draw slow and you can always siphon into a buckket to double check for them.

Those Betta are doing so well! I have a Betta that has fin rot.
Gives me hope. I am using salt and stress coat, and minimum 60% water changes daily. Hope this is correct.

I know that it is wrong to judge people, but I judge people by how they treat animals. The love and care that you show fish that mostly are passing through your home, is proof to me that you are an awesome person.

This is why I did not need the magazine, you are my best source of information because I see how you care for your fish. People need to see your work in the hobby and that it is a lot of work to care for large volumes of fish.There would be no illusion that fish keeping is a glorious job but rather a feat of passion

Clean water issss magical! I will always choose clean water and good food over medications....... Unless it's absolutely needed of course!

Yeah, I don't mean for internal or external parasites or certain types of bacterial or fungal infections but I fortunately haven't really had any problems like that. *Knock on wood..... I quarantine my fish before adding any to established tanks, regardless of where I get them.... but even then so i've only had a few minute stress induced problems (stress can cause anythhhiiing) that were treatable with good water quality and frequent but stable and consistent water changes, good oxygenation, and high quality food.. just good care in general.
