I've used the vacation feeders before and they've worked but I've never done it with my betta. Do u think it would be okay for a week or what do u think I should do?

If it's 2 gallons you should be good for awhile, I would recommend for you to upgrade eventually. Bettas are recommended to be in a minimum of 2.5 gallons, my betta just got a 3.5 gallon tank with a filter for 30$ at petsmart so there are a lot of options for tanks:) Bettas do have a longer life span expectancy if there are in at least a 2.5 gallon tank:)

my mom was feeding my betta misty this weekend and i think she feed him to much flacks case he is not act like he noramly is he is just hiding and comming out every once in awile to go to the top of the tank and get some air. he eats pellots mainely but some times he just wont eat them so i give him flacks insted but my mom just feed him flacks this weekend. do you think hes just bloded or..

+Isabella Pelletier-Soucy I hope your betta feels better soon. It is likely your betta is just bloated, and a few days of fasting should cure it completely and have him acting normal again! My betta once got over fed while in someone else's care, and he was lethargic and hid for a few days, but was better in no time. :) One thing I do to avoid it happening again is get one of those weekly pill trays and set out each day's food pre measured for my fish sitter, so I don't have to worry about them over feeding. It helps a lot!

I have a really similar tank to the half moon one, and I was wondering how often I have to do smaller water swaps, and how often I have to do full cleans? I was also wondering if you could do a video on how to handle a betta when you move houses, because I'm hopefully moving soon and I want to make it as easy for Apollo as I can.

BetterBetta thank you! That's the way I've been caring for his water, I just wanted to make sure. I also got a smaller half galleon tank with a snap on lid with air holes in it for moving, to work as a temporary tank until I can properly set up his tank again, and I'm hoping that works.

+Christine Daae I do the smaller water changes every week, and the full cleans about every month or so. :) I've never had to move with a betta, so unfortunately I don't know much about it! I know the Betta Fish and Betta Fish Care forum has a lot of people (like college students who move their bettas every summer) who may have some great tips for you! I've seen a couple threads on it before, so I'd suggest checking it out. :)

I like them. Some people have issues with the lid or the air stone, but I turn the air stone off if needed and I personally don't have major issues with the lid. It sometimes gets a little tricky to put on, but others have said they lid wont't stay on their tank. It has mixed reviews, but for me it's been working just fine! :)

enjoy the trip! When i go on trips i use zoo med betta banquet 7 day release blocks. Ive returned before 7 days and the blocks were dissolved. also been away longer than 7 and in both scenarios my fish always seem fine. i also use zoo med timers for the tank lights so the fish get a day and night cycle, and the live plants get some light.

It depends on how he's moving. If he's rushing around erratically (in circles practically) or rubbing his body on ornaments, then that is not and could be illness. However, if he's swimming in a normal pattern, just faster, he may just be happy to be in a tank instead of the cup, assuming you just got him. :)
