Mr field, I am starting my new channel, brought to you by RS Nets, called Paul Busse Fishing and I was wondering if I could get some advice for not only fishing but filming techniques. I usually fish for bass and was hoping I could get some pointers from my favorite kayak bass fishermen. If you could check out my channel and subscribe that would be great. Great video man!

nucanoe frontier 12 hands down! I have one and me and my uncle both can stand up and fish comfortably with all my gear packed in (another 100 lbs or so). the frontier is rated up to 600lbs thats like a small aluminum boat rating! there is nothing even close in comparison, some say the Jackson big rig but that's reaching way to far. I've had three people on my frontier 2 grown men and a 9yr old I don't think there's another kayak that has the stability and room to do that safely...

How did you put the jackson seat in the hobie?
Robert Field
Robert Field - 7 years ago
I just set it in there bro. Used Nite Ize gear ties to secure it down, no drilling or rigging at all. The 2015 seat fit perfectly in the 2012 Outback.

i hate not having a scale. i got some alright fish last year but no idea the weights. even got a nice fat one beg of this year. though he was short. i have no idea what my pb is lol. man catching them quick in texas in a cold month. you def know the area. i always think there is huge bass in prob every water with them. people just dont understand you have to put in time and get out there and you will land one. nice vid man grats on the fish. im on shore and a noob but the best thing that works for me is to work the bottom and to keep moving around and i usually land more fish that way. im in cali on pressured castaic though so a lot of guys skunk here. but hey thats fishing. i dont mind skunking as long as im out fishing it gives me that chance of landing big fish. cya

texas alabama florida and georgia are great states for big bass, i caught my pb in georiga which was 12lbs 4 oz. last december
most the southern states are great but something about those few (california also a good place)

the original world record was also caught in georgia which is 22lb 4oz many years ago, a friend of mine recently got a 11lb 9oz past spring and i have caught 3 fishover 7 this year the best being eight.

good lures are texas rigged worm (fluttertail or senko style) soft shad lures (flukes and soft shad swimbaits) spinnerbaits are also killers, thats what ive always had the best luck on. good keep fishing youll get the big one eventually, only way to do it is keep the line wet :)

dam why yall trying to rip there lip off?
richard mitchell
richard mitchell - 7 years ago
+Robert Field well yea i guess in some places it is harder (to hook) then others (from what i seen it can be) but where i am it would rip the lip...and that the sprigey poles help to stop that to...here where i am we only really got walmart shit poles lol so no flex at all (ps i might of not worded all that right i have a hard time wording it right...not trying to pick a fight)
Robert Field
Robert Field - 7 years ago
You have to do that to catch fish bud. Gotta set the hook hard or they'll get off more often.

I'm looking to start kayak fishing. I live in the Dallas area of Texas. Wanted to know some good lakes to go to. Also what gear to get. I just started fishing two weeks ago and I'm obsessed with it. I want to stop standing on the bank and get in the water. Since I'm a teen with a limited budget boats aren't really an option. I just want to know what rod and reel I should get? What kayak I should get? What line? What lures? Just a basic rundown of gear I need to succeed in kayak fishing.
Robert Field
Robert Field - 7 years ago
+Teh Cinq hey man, those are a lot of questions and probably too many to answer here on a YouTube comment. Go to www.texasfishingforum.com and scroll down to the Kayak Fishing section. That's where I went to get all my questions answered when I first started. Really nice guys on there and they're mostly in DFW. Very active community. I'm on there - YakFishField. Post up and ask some specific questions after you read the FAQs and people will be happy to help.

MrTatts64 - 8 years ago

+MrTatts64 what do you mean? I'm running 20# braid with a 15# fluoro leader attached by a modified albright knot. Works pretty well for me. That fish I broke off, the fluoro failed before the line-to-line knot.
