In this video I show you how I make a high power led lighting system and the process in setting up this 27 gallon tank (60cm*50cm*35cm) to breed Crystal Red Shrimp. During the 2 months of in between time I did various changes to the aquarium. First I removed the sand and changed it with dark pebbles because it was extremely difficult to clean up and got messy really quickly. Second, I removed all the large black pebbles because I wanted the plants to grow in the maximum amount of space available. I do not have any filter on the aquarium for the safety of the baby shrimp. The only filtration are the plants and to the moment they have worked perfectly. Currently there are berried Crystal Red Shrimp and im anxious to see the little ones :) INSTAGRAM: https://instagram.com/TonyTVTanks MUSIC: 1. Perspectives - Kevin MacLeod 2. 1 suggestion.
add a sponge filter and make the housing out of the same slate tiles you use for the hardscape. fish tank needs some filtration to keeps good parameters but you already know that.
keep up the good work

for a 75 gal?
Do you have to treat somehow the aquarium (ex: clean the glasses, balance pH, remove plants, ...) or it is like a self perpetuating ecosystem?
Do you think it is possible to setup a small self-sustained shrimp aquarium? (no water changes, no need to feed the shrimps, no need to clean the floor, ...)
Something like let the algae grow and let the shrimps clean the aquarium by eating the algae.
are you using CO2..?
I have some questions ^^
- do you feed them ?
- is there a additional filter installed? if not, how can the cold and warm water be mixed in the tank?
- did you added snails? ^^
Thank you for your efforts :)
Secondly I personaly prefer slightly bigger led's 5 or 10 watts as opposed to these 1 watts(?) First time I made a lighting system for my 50ltr i used these 1watts aswell, they where oke ish. But am i glad i switcht to cree 10watts!
They are a bit more cost effective and it makes for a cleaner look imo.
But other then that it looks great!
will normal air help in providing some amount of co2 to plants?
Thanks for the vid
what is the significance of the light set up you have here? thanks
I can't believe you are not using any Co2. WOW. I really want a lighting rig like yours now... haha.
In Aus CRS&CBS LOW grade ranged fr $5-8(CR/CB is mor pricier than the other by 1-2$) hi-grade S/SS/SSS ranges fr $9-12, if body patterns, flowers & colors harder to come by will cost heaps more Easily $150-300+
