Silicone bonds better to glass than it does to stainless steel, so i dont believe that it is a better joint.
i have worked with aquariums my whole life, and have never seen this method before. i would advise caution if building a tank this way!
the stainless steel makes extra support from out side and it's not related to joint the glasses together.

I loved the double pain bottom, once you line that up everything else fits like a puzzle piece.
Great Job!! Enjoyed!! Thumbs Up!!

One question
Wouldn't the silicone between the two bottom panels create pressure points when the tank is full? It might crack!!!
100 gallon is about 378 liters.
I can buy a 375 liter aluminum framed tank for about $400!
How much did you pay for the time and material you put into that?
The one i buy, comes with warranty for 2 years^^
And now i'm talking store prices.
I can buy it from my friend, who owns a petstore, for $280
I bought this frames about 25$, buying a ready tank in our countries is too expensive becouse all are imported from out side, so buying the raw materials and do it by your self is much cheaper, this setup including tank, sump, stand and Canopy cost me around 300$.
The other thing, Do it your self is enjoyable hobby for me.
Thanks for your comments and watching.
By the way i can guarantee this tank for 10 years ;)
