Loved the idea of using these black rock strips to raise certain parts of the aquarium (as I did in my previous video) so I decided to do it in a larger aquarium. I bought some plants at an online store but sadly got very few of what looked like aquarium trimmings... Not exactly what I was expecting but had to work with it and will have to continuously grow the plants, trim them and replant them until I fill the aquarium to my liking. I haven't decided on what fish to stock the aquarium with but they will most likely be neon tetras or other small colorful fish. The tank at the end looks a little cloudy but that will soon disappear once the tank gets well established. Will be posting an UPDATE video on this tank and my previous one so SUBSCRIBE to keep up! Hi tony would you know what slate you used in the 3 of your videos. You have inspired me on my new 6ft setup to use them with eco complete for pants and sand like your first video, what would this slate be used for roof/floor/counter tops. if you can find thins out would help me on my new setup alot thanks =)

I am somewhat baffled that you go to effort to hide the natural filter, which is a plant and arguably fine to look at, yet you leave the heater in plain sight for everyone to see!

HE IS by supplying what plants need to grow through liquid fertilizers (from the store) and through the waste from fish. The hair grass needs A LOT of light, and because it is a shallow tank and he is supplying all the nutrients without using soil, they will grow fine.

MY ADVICE EVINN: look up Dustin and his dirted tanks - with some help or by yourself you could do it pretty easy as long as you go slow and do your research. Dirt makes all plants easier, but that being said, it isn't a MUST, you will just have to help those plants grow with other food if theres not dirt
