How did you start the syphon between the 2 sump tanks

When you build an external overflow like that there is a check valve that you install at the top of the first loop. You suck air out of this valve and that removes the air in the pcv loop thus raising the water and starting the siphon.

Excellent system. I asked in your most recent video what controller your use and all I had to do was watch your earliest videos. I'm following along watching your videos. You have a common sense approach to reefkeeping that I really appreciate. Your like about the flashy lights on the MP40 drivers made me laugh. It kind of reminded me about bright objects and simple minds.

+reef roid That is an APC Battery Backup. Its not a computer type thing although it kinda looks like it. I actually used it for the first time this year when the power went out for an hour. I liked it because it will work with any power heads I had in the tank. Its not strong enough to run power heads and return pump however.
