How far are you casting? I heard longer 10-12 surf rods is good for casting far. What size would you recommend for the surf?

Yeah u got that right lol I usually stay on that end of west beach and sometimes I stay at a place on the bay side of little lagoon and bring my yak and I’ve never had a lot of luck besides croakers.

I’ve only fished little lagoon a couple times, it’s usually a tough body of water to fish.

Man you got this beach fishing down packed. Glad to see you doing well buddy. You should get some fish fishgrips it would be easier for your clients to handle and take picture with the fish. Just a suggestion

Oh yeah, I got the goods. I have been fishing for so long I really don't remember when I started. I have landed 20 pound Kings and 12+ lb Steelies on 6 lb line. In a river. Still, I have hooked Reds that you would swear are 30 lbs and they're only 10. They are pretty tough.

This was Alabama Point aka Perdido Pass. Fishing here changes day by day. This isn’t typical results, but the pompano should still be good when you are here.

Different distances, I vary it up. But it depends on where you are fishing and what structure is around.

As far as pompano it may have slowed down by then, but there will be other opportunities with trout, blues, Spanish, and flounder

Yeah I need to add a disclaimer *results not typical. Lol. However he did book a second trip with me and we had another killer day with 20+ pomps and a couple nice sheepshead from the beach.

It is typically what I use because I am typically targeting whiting and pompano. But it can handle these big fish as you can see! When I am targeting reds I will use 20-30lb mono/fluoro.
