no, you can have gravel, or even a bare tank with free floating plants, depending on variety. you can also leave plants in baskets or strip them free of the rockwool they're grown in. it all depends on what you want to do.

you would have less mosquitos if you didn't have several mosquito breeding grounds in your backyard. put some fish in those tanks, dude. feeder goldfish will happily eat the mosquito larva.

hi dustin i have a 50-55 gal tank which has 2 commons and one lionhead goldfish one of my commons has septicimea which im currently treaty, some people have said i should add some salt woud this help my goldfish and if so how much should i add to my tank thanks

Salt was a winner with my black moor he was very sick but is much better now. There is a few very small holes in his tail due to his condition so i am thinking of using some API melafix to aid his recovery. Worth a go?

I used melafix couple of times before. Once it was a pretty hardcore situation with my female betta being -seriously- wounded by the male - I could see her skeleton through the wound as he bit off a mouthful from her body. At first I thought the female is dead, but I gave her melafix treatment and she was brand-new in 6 days time. It's crazy.

hey, how do i stop my pond from overflowing? ( should i be worried?) i live in the caribbean, and its the start of the rainy season ( like two hours of rain almost every day) any advice ( shawn).

Whenever I have had a problem with dropsy, Maracyn-Two has always taken care of things relatively fast. If he's not doing any better within the next week or so it'd be something to try ( in a much smaller tank lol) But definitely keep up with the salt and some stress coat. Most fancy goldfish like to lay on the bottom of tanks and chill, but given a place to hide out will help with the stress. He's absolutely beautiful though.

Would you cut the ludwigia to the point where the good leaves are or would you leave it so it looks like a giant green stick with a few tiny leaves on the tip?

good job on the goldfish. just keep doing what your doing. avoid mixing a bunch of different meds in the tank. that will stress it as well. water changes, salt. good to go. keep up the good work. i think its gonna be fine, like you said, just gonna take a little while.

melafix is great stuff I used it when my big synodontis scraped it's side really badly and it healed in a week the cut was 3 inch lonh and half inch wide but also great for Healing open wounds & abrasions, treats fin and tail rot, eye cloud, mouth fungus and promotes regrowth of damaged fin rays & tissue I have 3 goldfish in my pond but don't take videos cause my neighbours would think I was mad lol
