I woke up today and suspected something was wrong with my tank as a couple of snails were acting weird. I tested for ammonia and got a result of 1.0ppm. This is what I do in the event of an ammonia spike. Please ask any questions in the comments below.

White bugs in my new REEF tank!
They appeared after a sump cleaning. Tiny compared to a pencil. Nitrate was high (2 ppm). This tank is only three weeks into a cycle. Fish food that was used to seed the tank was breaking down in the sump.

Water parameters,
PH - 8,Ammonia - 0,Nitrite - 0,Nitrate - 10,Salinity - 1.024,Temp - 24 C (75 F). Clown fish is now dead! Shrimp died within 5 minutes. Bought 3 crabs which are all dead. Also bought 6 snails (3 x 4 weeks ago, 3 x yesterday) all dead.Toadstool coral will not open up. Polyps are also looking dead. Please help.
